Supply Chain Innovation, Strategy & Management

Between September – December 2025, CODECS is organizing the Supply Chain Innovation, Strategy and Management program.

Brief description:

The Supply Chain Innovation, Strategy and Management course addresses supply and distribution systems (supply chain systems) and their components in an integrated, holistic manner, based on the premise that improving these systems requires coordinated and unified management of all components. Both large-scale organizations and smaller companies are considered.
Various theoretical and practical models of supply and distribution systems are presented, along with the constraints and opportunities of their practical application. The course also explores relationships within such systems, including those between buyers and suppliers, and between the organizations involved, analyzing how these relationships can be managed and improved through partnerships, virtual teams, or other forms of collaboration.
Additionally, the course integrates organizational strategy with the design and implementation of effective supply and distribution systems at the organizational level.

Main objectives of the course:

  • To provide a comprehensive overview of various types of supply and distribution systems and how to manage them efficiently.
  • To demonstrate how supply chain management can be extended to the entire product lifecycle and the main benefits of such an approach.
  • To highlight the need to adapt managerial practices as a result of changes introduced in supply and distribution systems.
  • To explore tensions that may arise between system integration and economic, social, and environmental conditions.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the elements and principles behind designing, implementing, and managing a high-performance supply and distribution system.
  • Recognize the essential role of an effective supply and distribution system in delivering added value to organizational stakeholders.
  • Use a wide range of qualitative and quantitative techniques to evaluate and forecast the performance of an efficient supply and distribution system.

Target audience:

This course is useful for individuals currently working as logistics managers, as well as those aspiring to such a position.
It is also aimed at managers or operational staff working in other functional management areas who wish to enhance their knowledge in this field.

Study method:

The "Open Learning" system combines individual study with teamwork during tutorials and the Residential School; students will study the course materials, solve case studies, and complete mandatory assessment papers based on a clearly defined schedule presented in the Course Calendar. Each student will be part of a tutorial group and will receive support from a tutor, who will help clarify concepts, provide guidance and feedback, and evaluate and comment on submitted assignments.

Assessment of acquired knowledge:

Students will complete 3 papers, which they will submit to their tutor for evaluation and feedback. The course concludes with a written exam.
